Reported By: Dan Svedarsky
Reported Date: 5/11/2006
Subject: Burrowing Owls
Location: Section 18 in Tilden Township on the Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge.
Description:
Two and perhaps 3 of these rare little owls who frequent badger burrows were on a dry ridge which is being planted to dry prairie species. To find them, stop by all of the signs noting "Pembina Trail Preserve - Crookston Unit" right along county road 45 about 3.3 miles west of Highway 32. Walk north about 1.8 miles along the trail and then into a field until some land working. They will be perched on the ground and fly rather rapidly.
