Lunchtime Learning: Effective Visual Advertising
Introducing a new Lunchtime Learning series. The Crookston Chamber will be presenting a series of presentations over the lunch hour to discuss topics of interest to the business community. The presentations will be held approximately 5 times per year. Future topics will include HR topics such as recruitment, choosing the best legal structure for your business, and basic tips for more effective use of social media.
The first session will be Effective Visual Advertising presented by Scott Telle. He will be talking about marketing, advertising, and branding in the current market. This will be a great way to pick up ideas on how to market or promote your organization! Speaker introduction:
Scott Telle is president and creative director of the Ad Monkeys advertising agency in Grand Forks. As a founding member, Scott has overseen the visual aspects of Ad Monkeys and its portfolio for nearly 30 years. During that time, Scott has provided guidance and marketing insight to a wide range of clients, including several in healthcare, finance, manufacturing, retail, and higher education. Scott's role as creative director has earned the agency more than 50 awards for excellence from the American Advertising Federation in categories such as print, radio, television, multimedia, and digital photography.
As a graphic artist, Scott has produced branding materials and advertising campaigns for regional institutions like Altru Health System, Home of Economy, Frandsen Bank & Trust, and True North Equipment. As a video producer/director, Scott has conducted one-on-one interviews with representatives from all walks of life, including corporate executives, professional athletes, Olympic gold medalists, business owners, healthcare workers, community volunteers, nonprofits, and victims of poverty and violence. His work in creating original logos includes the University of Minnesota Crookston golden eagle, the geometric blue emblem of Mayville State University, the familiar black oval at Truyu Aesthetic Center, and the checkered flag wordmark of River Cities Speedway.
While running Ad Monkeys, Scott served for more than a decade as a part-time instructor of graphic design at the University of North Dakota. Through his agency, Scott continues to provide internship opportunities for aspiring young entrepreneurs. Scott has served on advisory boards for organizations such as the Grand Forks / East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce, the Empire Arts Center, and Sacred Heart School.
Scott is a product of UND, graduating with honors in 1991. Prior to that, Scott left his mark on Lake of the Woods where, as a fishing guide in the 1980s, he helped discover and pinpoint a walleye hot spot now listed on the map as Rudy’s Reef -- so branded in recognition of Scott’s nickname and CB radio handle. But that’s another story.Lunchtime Learning: Effective Visual ...Date and Time
