Summer is the perfect time to get your health in order. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and RiverView Health is offering free, three month "Prevent Type 2 Diabetes'' classes! The classes are open to the public and offered to anyone who feels they are at risk of developing diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes - a condition that occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Each session will include discussion and education on a variety of topics including nutrition and activity to help prevent Type 2 diabetes, and participants will go home with helpful handouts, tips and activities. RiverView Dietitian Darcey Larsen, RD LD, and RiverView Health Coach Kelsey Billing, RN, BSN, will lead the lifestyle change program.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays, July 19th and Aug. 16th in Meeting Room 1 of RiverView Health, 323 S. Minnesota Street, Crookston. For participant convenience, two times will be offered for the class: a morning class will be held from 9 to 11, while the other class will be held from 5 to 7 pm.
